funny because this is her hair cut now
Just finished reading Jaycee Dugard’s book……….
jillusion:

“A Stolen Life: A Memoir” by Jaycee Dugard is one of the most emotionally gripping memoirs I have ever read.
For most of our generation, we don’t know who this woman is. We don’t recognize her face or name.
But I’m making this post and suggesting you read this book because we should.
Jaycee Dugard, 11, was walking to school one morning and was kidnapped in 1991 by Phillip and Nancy Garrido. Phillip, a registered sex offender who had been in and out of prison for various kidnapping/rape charges, was on parole when he and his wife kidnapped the girl so that she could serve the purpose of satisfying his sick sexual appetite for young girls. Jaycee was locked in a shed in the back yard for 18 years.
During those 18 years, she was raped repeatedly and impregnated twice by Phillip and had two baby girls. At the same time, her mother was desperately trying to find her daughter, hoping every day for her to come home.
Oh, and since Phillip Garrido was on parole his house was inspected SIXTY times during this 18 year period. None of these officers checked the fucking back yard.
However, due to what I consider a miracle, Jaycee and her two daughters were saved. This is her memoir. It’s detailed and can be hard to read, but it gives one of the most amazing messages.
Honestly, it’s not hard to get a copy. Please do yourself a favor and read it (it’s a fast read, took me 2 days).
Jaycee Dugard is an inspiration and her name should be more familiar to our generation.
